Power Yoga | Gentle Yoga
I am a Bay Area native, but spent the majority of the last decade traveling the world and living abroad, studying Western Medicine to complete my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Australia. During that time I began to cultivate my own yoga practice and explore Eastern philosophy, which has become a major inspiration in my life. I completed my first 200 hour training in 2015 and have been sharing the teachings of yoga ever since. I am in the process of completing an 800 hour Yoga Therapy course to become an IAYT accredited Yoga Therapist. As a yoga therapist I will be able to work for clients with specific conditions to help correct, soothe, or accustom oneself to ailments, building a sense of well-being in mind, body, and spirit. I am currently working as a Prevention Coordinator for a non-profit to reduce alcohol and other drug use among youth. Through my work I have noticed a growing culture of loneliness and anxiety, and I hope to be able to pair yoga with prevention to help build connection and reduce anxiety. I teach Vinyasa Flow as moving meditation to strengthen the mind-body connection and Restorative style classes to practice the art of slowing down and letting go. For me, yoga is the act of self-study. If you are able to give yourself your undivided attention in the yoga room, you will be considered an expert in my class.
